Racing America has announced a new three-step North American single-seater structure that will begin competition in March 2027.
The NA Formula Ladder will comprise the NAJr, NA4 and NA3 championships. Racing America will sanction and operate the platform, which it describes as independent. The official announcement does not disclose the legal entities behind each series, entry numbers, team agreements, commercial budget or how existing Formula 4 and Formula Regional programmes will transition into the new structure.
The championships will use Ligier Automotive formula cars and Hankook Motorsport tyres. NAJr and NA4 will share one track group with the Ligier JS F4 and JS F422 respectively. NA3 will use the first-generation Ligier JS F3 and the newer JS F326. Drivers can enter the ladder from age 14, subject to the applicable licensing and championship regulations.
Racing America has published different season sizes for each tier. NA3 is scheduled for 23 rounds across eight weekends, NA4 for 20 rounds across seven weekends and NAJr for 14 rounds across five weekends. The first combined event is planned for Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on 18–21 March 2027.
The calendar places the ladder alongside Trans Am and NASCAR Canada at selected events. Racing America says this will give entrants larger audiences and broader media exposure. Every weekend is scheduled to be streamed on Racing America’s YouTube channel, although the release does not set out production standards, territorial restrictions or audience guarantees.
Scholarships are part of the progression model. The NAJr champion is due to receive a Ligier car-and-engine lease, Hankook tyres and Racing America entries for a move to NA4. A similar package is planned for the NA4 champion moving to NA3. The NA3 champion’s award has not yet been announced, and the release does not state the cash value or detailed conditions of either confirmed package.
The new ladder is commercially significant for teams, car suppliers, tyre support, circuits and driver-development businesses. Its cost and accessibility claims come from the organiser; entry fees, testing restrictions, parts pricing and full technical regulations were not included in the launch announcement.
